1. Aims and Scope

The JKKNIU Journal of Social Sciences (JKKNIUJSS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU), Bangladesh. The journal aims to promote high-quality scholarly research in the fields of social sciences, including but not limited to Economics, Public Administration, Folklore, Sociology, Local Government and Urban Development, Political Science, Anthropology, Development Studies, and related interdisciplinary areas.

2. Submission Policy

  • Manuscripts submitted to JKKNIUJSS must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Submissions should align with the journal’s aims and scope.

  • All listed authors must have made a significant academic contribution to the manuscript and must agree to its submission.

3. Peer Review Policy

  • All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to assess relevance, quality, and compliance with journal guidelines.

  • Suitable manuscripts are reviewed through a blind peer review process.

  • Final publication decisions are based on reviewers’ recommendations, academic merit, originality, and relevance.

4. Publication Ethics

JKKNIUJSS follows internationally accepted standards of publication ethics. Authors must ensure that:

  • Research involving human participants has received appropriate ethical approval or must describe how informed consent was sought and how the privacy of the participants was protected.

  • Proper acknowledgment is given to all sources to avoid plagiarism.

  • A similarity score (Turnitin) excluding bibliography/references of more than 20% will not be accepted. Even within the accepted similarity score, if three consecutive sentences match another document without reference, the submission will be rejected.
  • Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed.

The journal reserves the right to reject or retract articles in cases of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices.

5. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain copyright of their published work while granting the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.

  • Proper permission must be obtained for the use of copyrighted material (tables, figures, images, or datasets).
